Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). Her family relocated to Oxfordshire when she was five when she enrolled in the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma decided she would like to become an actor and for several years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre academy where she studied performing and singing. By the time she turned 10 Emma was already taking part in several Stagecoach Productions as well as school productions. When 1999 began, casting was announced for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by agent via their Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for the role. They cast her alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut on the big screen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It was also the biggest and most profitable film in the year 2001. Opening Saturday and Sunday ticket sales were record breaking. The film was praised by critics, as were the performance of three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, praised Emma's acting "amazing". Emma's performance was nominated and earned her five awards afterward for the film.
